Kingdom of Heroes ('KOH') User Agreement
1. Terms of the User Agreement. KOH is provided to you by Online Games Company Ltd ("OGC") as a chargeable game, the charges to be paid by calendar monthly subscription. This Agreement - made between you (as the user) and OGC when you check the agreement box for PAYPAL or made between you (as the user) and OGC when you issue the REGISTERME command and register your billing information - states the essential terms and conditions for accessing KOH and playing the KOH Game (collectively "KOH"). Each account that registers for KOH will be treated as a separately registered, billable user.2. Charges. As a condition for access to KOH, you agree to pay OGC a fee of 9.99 British pounds (or local currency equivalent*)(PAYPAL $15.00) on the first Monday of each month ("KOH Fee"). The KOH Fee will be in addition to your internet and telephone usage charges or other access charges and does not include any applicable telecommunications or other surcharges. OGC may change the KOH Fee upon 30 days advanced notice to you. In such case, OGC will notify you by online screen or email to the email address you leave when you register and you will have an opportunity to terminate this agreement and cancel payment of the KOH Fee if you do not wish to continue.
3. Cancellation/Notification. You may cancel the KOH Fee only by issuing the UNREGISTER command. (For details on how to cancel your monthly premium payment, issue the HELP UNREGISTER command or see the Registration area on the OGC website at http:\\www.theonlinegamescompany.com.) NOTIFICATION TO ANY PARTY OTHER THAN OGC WILL BE INEFFECTIVE TO CANCEL YOUR KOH ACCOUNT AND PAYMENT OF YOUR KOH FEE.
4. Disclaimer. NEITHER OGC NOR THEIR AFFILIATES OR AGENTS, MAKE ANY WARRANTIES AS TO THE OPERATION, QUALITY OR FUNCTIONALITY OF KOH OR ASSURE IT TO BE ERROR-FREE. You may experience disconnects, or other restrictions or errors while accessing KOH.
5. Supplements and Changes to the KOH User Agreement. OGC may set specific rules and policies regarding KOH play, which will be posted in the KOH area on the OGC website at http:\\www.theonlinegamescompany.com and will take effect immediately upon posting. OGC may also add to or change the provisions of this agreement from time to time. All additions will be notified to you by a posting in the KOH Info online area and will take effect 30 days after posting. It is your responsibility as a user to refer to these game rules and additions and changes to this Agreement. You will be deemed to have accepted them if you access to KOH after they become effective. You are required to provide OGC with complete and accurate registration and billing information and to update your information if it changes. In addition to this Agreement, your use of KOH must adhere to the Acceptable Use Policy of OGC provided on OGC's website.
6. Data Protection. All personal information you supply to OGC will be used by OGC and its appointed agents in order to carry out billing and other operational functions. In addition, unless you have indicated to the contrary (by opting out) on the User Registration Form, OGC, or its agents, may from time to time send you information on KOH or on other third party products or services that it thinks may interest you. (However, this information will not be provided to third party suppliers or vendors of products and services for this purpose.) You are deemed to have given your permission to OGC to convey all or part of your registration information to third party auditors for the purpose of verifying usage and payments.
* * For U.S. users, the monthly premium charge of 9.99 UK pounds, assuming a hypothetical conversion rate of 1.5 US dollars per pound, would be approximately US$14.99; however, actual conversion rates will differ and are subject to change without notice. These rates are applied by your credit, debit or charge card company and are outside the control of OGC. In the case of users paying by PAYPAL the charge is fixed at 14.50 US Dollars.
Acceptable Use Policy
1. The use of profanity is not permitted. Any use of profanity or any profane abuse will result in a warning to the player followed by a suspension of the player's character if it continues. Note, "profanity" includes words and phrases generally considered offensive and is not limited to specific words of profanity. It includes profanity disguised by the use of numbers or symbols, e.g. H*llo. Profanity could also include profane abuse involving out-of-character racial or ethnic slurs or language that is out-of-character hurtful or participates in hate propaganda or offensive stereotyping. Severe offenders could be suspended without warning.
2. Harassment of other players will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to sexual harassment (lewd comments), abuse of emotion commands, targeting other players in message boards or in game for the purpose of harassment, etc. If asked by anyone to stop harassing or targeting another player, do so immediately. Failure to stop the behavior will result in the suspension of your character. What constitutes "harassment" is widely varied and comes from the state-of-mind of the person on the receiving end. Remember that in cases where players seem excessively sensitive, KOH Staff will determine whether the average person would feel "harassed" and take appropriate action. If you feel you are being harassed, never ever respond in any form (shouts, chats, emotes, tells, etc) but rather contact a KOH Staff member.
3. KOH allows multiple characters to be created for a given screen name. We encourage players to explore the different character types available in KOH using this mechanism. Note, however, transferring items or gold between characters is not allowed and that you may not run more than one character in the game at the same time. If you do either, your characters will be altered to rectify the abuse and a penalty will be imposed. If it continues, your characters will be suspended.
4. KOH is a land filled with quests and mysteries. The major enjoyment in KOH is the discovery of new areas and the solving of quests. Thus we ask that players not give out answers to quests or reveal the solutions to brainteasers. Clues and hints are fine, but supplying answers is prohibited. Persons revealing solutions will be heavily penalized.
5. Disruptive behavior which may affect others’ enjoyment of KOH will not be tolerated. Disruptive behavior may include, but is not limited to, scrolling in shouts, chats, says, tells, wails, emotes, wishes, in-and-out of rooms, etc.; out-of-character shouts over the regular shout channel; or domination of shouts in both a contentious and tedious manner. Disruptive behavior might also include but not be limited to roleplay that is antisocial rather than appropriately, enjoyably "dark" in a fantasy environment; or to out-of-character statements by players that they are permanently banned. All such behavior may result in your character[s] loss of privileges for a time, and if continued may cause suspension.
6. Roleplay point "trading" is not permitted. 1) Solicitation for roleplay points from other players, and/or 2) agreeing to trade, and/or 3) trading will result in a penalty adjustment to your character[s]. Continued abuse may result in suspension. For appropriate use of roleplay points, see HELP ROLEPLAY within the game.
7. Overt sexual actions are not permitted in KOH. No areas of KOH may be considered private. Such actions will result in instantaneous, permenant suspension from the game without warning.
KOH caters to players of all ages, and behavior should be appropriate for everyone in the game. The person who walks into your room could be a young child.
8. If groups of players collide while trying to hunt, quest, or socialize in an area, it would be wise for the players to solve the difficulty themselves in an adult manner. If KOH Staff is called in because no compromise can be reached among players, KOH Staff will review the situation, then mandate a compromise that is binding on all parties. Failure to follow the mandated solution might be considered disruptive behavior.
9. Impersonating another player or KOH Staff member is not tolerated. Creating a character name in order to demean another person is not tolerated.
10. Threatening another player that a KOH Staff member will retaliate or show favoritism on your behalf is not tolerated.
11. KOH Staff have the right to impose other rules not specifically stated here. Please obey the KOH Staff if you are asked to cease certain actions.
12. KOH requires its players to adhere to ALL conditions and terms of service put forth in both the game and message boards.
13. If at any time you have a question regarding KOH policy or wish
to report a policy violation, use the "WISH
1. We will never willfully disclose information about our players to any third party without first receiving that player's permission.
2. We do not sell, rent, share, trade or give away any of your personal information on our email lists. We reserve the right to rent our postal mailing list with vendors.
You are given the option whether you wish to be excluded from our mailing list.
3. We are committed to the security of customer information and we have security procedures in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of information under our control.
4. We may use information about the kinds of products you buy from OGC to make other marketing offers to you, unless you tell us not to. We do not give out this purchase data to others.
5. We take extra steps to protect the safety and privacy of children.
6. We use secure technology, privacy protection controls and restrictions on employee access in order to safeguard your personal information.
Online Games Company Ltd. charges a flat monthly fee as described below. After reading this information, if you have questions regarding the process, please email your query to Admin@kingdomofheroes.com.
Once you've used up your FREE time, a flat rate monthly charge of 9.99 UK pounds* (14.50 US Dollars if using PAYPAL) will apply for playing KOH. You are allowed FIVE free logons to KOH per character. Since there are three character slots per account you will have a total of FIFTEEN free logons. After you've used up your FREE time, you must register and pay the monthly fee to continue playing KOH.
*Assuming a hypothetical currency conversion rate of 1.5 US Dollars per British pound, the monthly charge of 9.99 British pounds would result in a charge of approximately US$14.99; however, actual currency conversion rates will differ and will be applied by your credit, debit or charge card company. Currency conversion rates are outside the control of Online Games Company and are subject to change without notice.If paying by PAYPAL the charge is fixed at 14.50 US Dollars.
If you register in game using a credit card, you will be billed each month (in advance) for 9.99 UK pounds. If you use paypal, you can pay for a number of months in advance (maximum 12), or pay monthly.
To cancel your KOH subscription, use the UNREGISTER command while logged into KOH. If you have any questions about cancelling your account, please email Billing@theonlinegamescompany.com
Q: Is the cost per character or per account?
A: It's per account. Once you register an account, you have paid for all three character slots and do not need to register each character separately.
Q: Will I have to fill in my payment details?
A: Yes, you will do that IN KOH using the REGISTER command. Alternatively you can use PayPal from this web site.
Q: What payment will you accept?
A: Any form of VISA, MASTERCARD, or PAYPAL. That includes Visa debit checking account cards (these are cards with a VISA logo but when charges are made, they are debited directly from your checking account).
Q: Can I pay by check?
A: In certain rare circumstances, payment by check is acceptable if you pay in advance for twelve months. Write to Admin@kingdomofheroes.com for details.
Q: Can I register more than one account?
A: Yes. Each account registered will be billed separately one month in advance for 9.99 UK pounds and will allow an additional 3 personas.
Q: If I have an existing KOH character, what happens?
A: You will have 5 free trial logins for that character (and any other characters on your account). During the trial period, you can register to continue using your character, or register within 30 days of your last trial login. Existing characters are not edited in any way, and they will stay in the files for at least 90 days after last login.
Q: What if I have a question about my billing?
A: If you need to find out about any charges already made to your account, email Billing@theonlinegamescompany.com
Q: Are there any additional charges other than the flat fee?
A: Online Games Company will not charge you anything more, and you will get access to everything in the game for a flat fee. (This excludes charges from your internet provider, phone company, etc.)
Q: Why can't I delete my character?
A: Only registered accounts are allowed the option of deleting characters.
Q: Are there plans to enchance/expand KOH?
A: Yes. As always, we welcome suggestions and constantly make enhancements to the lands. In particular, check our message boards folders.
